NEO and VEO packs for glo HYPER beside VIRTO and RIVO packs for glo HILO.

Glo Stick Compatibility: NEO, VEO, VIRTO and RIVO

glo stick compatibility starts with the device family: current HYPER-format NEO and VEO sticks belong to the HYPER range; VIRTO and RIVO belong to HILO and HILO Plus. The two platforms do not exchange sticks.

The confusing part is the small print. NEO has appeared in different formats, regional ranges add names such as KENT or Lucky Strike, and a sealed end does not identify the heating system. This guide helps you match the exact pack to the device you already have.

Which sticks work with glo?

  • HYPER range: approved HYPER-format NEO and VEO; other locally approved brands depend on the market.
  • HILO and HILO Plus: VIRTO and RIVO designed for the HILO platform.
  • Older or unidentified devices: check the exact model and stick format before applying a current HYPER compatibility list.

See the manufacturer’s device-family guide. Regional examples below describe the packs named in the linked sources, not every pack sold worldwide.

Yes applies to the manufacturer-approved format named in the row. No means the stick belongs to the other platform. Not confirmed means the pack or device needs identification; it is not permission to try it.

Model coverage: glo Romania lists the supported HYPER generations for NEO and VEO. The Czech HYPER PRO+ FAQ confirms both ranges for PRO+. The Greek platform guide reserves VIRTO and RIVO for HILO and HILO Plus.

These are regional manufacturer listings, so match your local pack and exact model as well. The table does not approve historical slim sticks, loose sticks or third-party substitutes.

NEO compatibility depends on the format

A NEO logo is not a complete compatibility label. The current Greek range is described as NEO Demi Slim, and its upgraded StickSeal versions remain compatible with existing HYPER devices. That statement concerns the HYPER format sold in that market. See glo Greece’s NEO guidance.

There have also been older formats. BAT’s 2024 results transcript, page 17, distinguishes the legacy superslim system in Japan from the HYPER demi-slim platform. It does not provide a universal compatibility chart for every older glo model.

NARNAY’s NEO and KENT FAQ provides additional background on stick names and formats.

NEO, VEO, VIRTO and RIVO are different products

The material inside a stick and the device it fits answer two separate questions. VEO and RIVO both use a tobacco-free rooibos base with nicotine, but that shared ingredient does not make them interchangeable.

Why HILO sticks cannot be swapped with HYPER sticks

glo’s Greek FAQ describes VIRTO as shorter and wider than the NEO sticks used with HYPER PRO. It also describes an internal cavity designed around HILO’s quartz heating element. Compatibility therefore involves the stick’s internal construction as well as its outside dimensions.

Both HILO models use the same designated VIRTO and RIVO ranges, according to glo’s HILO support guide. HILO Plus has different hardware, but it does not introduce a separate Plus-only stick format.

Do not use physical insertion as a compatibility test or alter a stick to make it fit. A pack’s colour, capsule or familiar name cannot establish the correct heating interface. For the broader hardware differences, read our glo HILO vs HYPER PRO comparison.

Does StickSeal change which device a stick fits?

StickSeal does not identify the device family. The feature seals the end of a consumable to limit material falling into the chamber. It appears on products for different glo platforms.

The Romanian glo FAQ says the upgraded HYPER consumables can still be used with the same HYPER devices. Separately, BAT describes StickSeal on HILO’s VIRTO and RIVO.

KENT, Lucky Strike and regional pack names

Some local glo ranges include additional brand names. A regional listing confirms the named heated-stick product; it does not make every product carrying that brand compatible.

A missing flavour in your local catalogue does not establish incompatibility, and a familiar flavour name does not establish compatibility. Record the full product name, platform marking and country of the pack when asking manufacturer support to identify it.

How to check an unfamiliar pack

  1. Read the complete device name

Keep HYPER PRO, HYPER PRO+ and HILO Plus distinct. If the name is unclear, find the model number on the device or its original documentation.

  2. Find the platform designation on the pack

Keep the outer packaging until you have established the match; a loose stick gives you less information.

  3. Check the format and market

For an older or imported pack, find its local manufacturer page or manual rather than relying on a current catalogue from another country.

  4. Resolve a mismatch before insertion

Send manufacturer support photos of the complete pack and the device model if their compatibility is still unclear.

For devices from other manufacturers, use our heated-stick compatibility guide.

What if the wrong stick is already inside?

For a broken stick in HILO, the manufacturer’s troubleshooting guidance specifies at least 10 minutes of cooling, followed by the approved HILO Stick Remover used according to its instructions. If the stick is jammed, the heater appears damaged or you are unsure, contact support rather than improvising an extraction tool.

Use the instructions for your exact device. HYPER’s chamber-access procedure is not a universal removal procedure for HILO. Our HILO and HILO Plus FAQ covers the relevant model distinctions.

Final Verdict

Match the full device name to the approved stick format. HYPER owners should check for the correct HYPER-format NEO or VEO; HILO and HILO Plus owners have the separate VIRTO/RIVO platform.

With an older device or a regional pack, establish that match before use. The most useful information is the device and format designation, not the flavour, capsule, sealed end or glo logo alone.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use NEO or VEO sticks in glo HILO?

No. The HYPER versions of NEO and VEO do not belong to the HILO platform. HILO uses its designated VIRTO and RIVO sticks.

Do VIRTO or RIVO work with glo HYPER PRO?

No. They are designed for HILO and HILO Plus. HYPER PRO requires consumables approved for its HYPER platform.

Does glo HYPER PRO+ still use NEO and VEO?

Yes. The official HYPER PRO+ FAQ confirms both. HYPER PRO+ and HILO Plus are different device names and use different stick platforms.

Do HILO and HILO Plus need different sticks?

No. Both use the same designated VIRTO and RIVO ranges. The distinction between the devices does not create a Plus-only consumable.

Will every NEO pack work in every glo device?

No. Check its format and device designation. Current HYPER compatibility does not automatically extend to every legacy glo device or old NEO pack.

Can I use TEREA in glo?

No. IQOS specifies TEREA exclusively for IQOS ILUMA. It is not a consumable for either glo HYPER or glo HILO.

Are VEO and RIVO nicotine-free?

No. Both are tobacco-free ranges that contain nicotine. Their shared rooibos base also does not make their device formats interchangeable.

Can I identify compatibility by the pack colour?

Use the full product name and device designation. A colour or flavour name is not enough to identify the approved platform, particularly with an imported or older pack.
