Which sticks fit which heated tobacco device? Use this guide to match IQOS ILUMA, older IQOS, BONDS, glo HILO, glo Hyper, lil, Ploom and Pulze devices with the consumables officially designed for them—and avoid combinations that may not work or may damage the device.

Quick answer: how do I know which sticks fit my device?

Match the exact device family and generation, not just the brand. IQOS ILUMA uses SMARTCORE sticks such as TEREA, while older blade-based IQOS devices use HEETS. glo HILO uses virto or rivo, while the glo Hyper range uses neo and, in supported markets, veo. Ploom uses its own EVO range, lil SOLID uses Fiit, Pulze uses iD or iSENZIA, and BONDS uses BLENDS or BEYOND.

A stick that physically enters the chamber is not automatically compatible. If the device manual or the pack sold in your country gives different instructions, follow that local manufacturer guidance.

Compatibility rule: use only a pack that names your exact device family. Never force a stick into the chamber, cut it, unwrap it or move components between sticks.

IQOS ILUMA, older IQOS and BONDS compatibility

Most IQOS compatibility mistakes come from mixing the bladeless ILUMA platform with older blade-based IQOS devices—or treating BONDS as another ILUMA model.

What sticks are compatible with IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA i?

IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA i devices use SMARTCORE sticks. Current official families include TEREA, DELIA and tobacco-free LEVIA. Japan also has SENTIA, and the exact selection differs by country.

Can you use HEETS in IQOS ILUMA?

No. HEETS are made for older IQOS devices that heat with a blade. They do not contain the internal element required by ILUMA's induction system, so an ILUMA device cannot heat them correctly.

Do not repeatedly insert HEETS to test whether the device will start. Use a genuine SMARTCORE stick intended for ILUMA instead.

Can you use TEREA in an old IQOS or IQOS 3 DUO?

No. TEREA is designed only for the bladeless IQOS ILUMA platform. TEREA and other SMARTCORE sticks contain a metal heating element. Inserting one into a blade-based IQOS can damage the holder and the stick, so use HEETS or the locally approved blade-system stick instead.

Are TEREA, DELIA, LEVIA and SENTIA compatible with the same devices?

Yes, where those products are officially available: all four are SMARTCORE-format consumables for IQOS ILUMA and IQOS ILUMA i. TEREA, DELIA and SENTIA contain tobacco; LEVIA is a tobacco-free nicotine stick. Availability, flavours and names vary by market.

Can you use TEREA or HEETS in BONDS by IQOS?

No. BONDS by IQOS uses the ROUNDHEAT platform and has its own consumables: BLENDS tobacco sticks and, in supported markets, BEYOND tobacco-free nicotine sticks. TEREA is for ILUMA, while HEETS is for blade-based IQOS generations.

Can BLENDS or BEYOND be used in IQOS ILUMA?

No. BLENDS and BEYOND are designed for BONDS by IQOS and do not use the ILUMA SMARTCORE induction format. For ILUMA, choose an official TEREA, DELIA, LEVIA or regional SENTIA pack marked for IQOS ILUMA.

How can I tell whether my IQOS is an ILUMA or a blade model?

Look for the model name on the device, charger, original box or connected app. ILUMA names include “ILUMA” or “ILUMA i” and have no exposed ceramic blade inside the holder. Older models such as IQOS ORIGINALS DUO, IQOS 3 DUO and IQOS 3 MULTI use a visible internal blade.

Do not touch or probe the chamber to identify it. If the name is unreadable, use the serial number with the manufacturer's support service before inserting a stick.

glo HILO and glo Hyper stick compatibility

HILO is not simply a newer Hyper device. It is a separate heating platform with new virto and rivo consumables.

What sticks are compatible with glo HILO and HILO Plus?

glo HILO and HILO Plus are designed for virto tobacco sticks and rivo tobacco-free herbal nicotine sticks. BAT describes both as exclusively designed for the HILO platform and its combined infrared and resistive heating system.

Can you use neo or veo sticks in glo HILO?

No. neo and veo are associated with the glo Hyper platform in supported markets, not HILO. Do not force them into HILO or assume that a familiar glo logo means the consumables are interchangeable.

Can you use virto or rivo sticks in glo Hyper Pro?

No. virto and rivo are made for glo HILO and HILO Plus. glo Hyper Pro and the wider Hyper family use their own demi-slim consumables, principally neo and market-specific veo sticks.

What sticks work with glo Hyper Pro, Hyper X2 and Hyper Air?

The Hyper range uses neo demi-slim sticks. Some official markets also list veo tobacco-free herbal sticks for Hyper devices. Always check that the pack names “glo Hyper” because BAT's local brand portfolio and available variants differ by country.

Are all neo sticks compatible with every glo device?

No. glo has used more than one stick diameter and device platform. Current Hyper devices use the wider demi-slim format, while some older glo models used slimmer sticks. HILO uses neither. Match the exact model named on the pack instead of relying only on the neo name.

Do KENT or Lucky Strike heated sticks work with glo?

Only when the local pack explicitly identifies your glo model or platform. BAT uses different consumable brand names in different countries, and the same cigarette-brand name does not prove device compatibility. Check the device illustration, format and compatibility statement on the sealed pack.

Ploom, lil and Pulze compatibility

These systems can use sticks with a broadly similar shape, but their heating chambers, airflow and consumable construction are different.

What sticks are compatible with Ploom AURA?

In the current UK and European range, Ploom AURA uses EVO heated tobacco sticks. Other Ploom markets may use different official regional names, so the pack should clearly state that it is designed for the relevant Ploom heating device.

Ploom advises that other brands may not work properly and may damage the device, even if they appear to fit.

Are EVO sticks compatible with Ploom X Advanced and older Ploom heating devices?

Ploom UK lists EVO for its supported Ploom heating devices, including Ploom AURA and Ploom X Advanced. However, legacy product families such as Ploom TECH used different capsules and components. Check the full model name rather than assuming every historic product carrying the Ploom name uses EVO.

What sticks are compatible with lil SOLID and lil SOLID Ez?

Fiit tobacco sticks are the manufacturer-listed match for lil SOLID, lil SOLID 2.0 and lil SOLID Ez. They are heated by the device's internal pin and are not compatible with IQOS ILUMA.

Can you use HEETS in lil SOLID?

Do not treat HEETS as universally approved across every lil model and market. Although some blade-format sticks can look similar or physically fit, official guidance for lil SOLID Ez identifies Fiit as the dedicated consumable. Follow the manual supplied for your exact lil generation and region; when in doubt, use Fiit.

What does lil HYBRID use?

lil HYBRID is a separate platform that uses a MIIX stick together with a dedicated liquid cartridge. It is not a lil SOLID variant, and Fiit or HEETS should not be substituted for the MIIX-and-cartridge combination.

What sticks are compatible with Pulze 2.0 and Pulze 3.0?

Current Pulze devices use iD tobacco sticks and, where available, iSENZIA tobacco-free nicotine sticks. They should not be replaced with IQOS, glo, Ploom, lil or BONDS consumables.

Can I use a different brand if the stick physically fits?

Physical fit is not proof of compatibility. A device is calibrated for a particular stick diameter, heating zone, airflow, moisture level and internal construction. An unsupported stick can heat unevenly, produce a poor session, become stuck, leave excess residue or damage the heater. Use only the manufacturer-designated match.

Compatibility safety and troubleshooting

If a stick is wrong for the device, stop before applying pressure or starting a heating cycle.

What should I do if I inserted the wrong stick?

Do not start or restart the session. Let the device cool, then pull the stick out gently and straight without twisting aggressively. If it resists, breaks or leaves material inside, follow the official removal instructions for that model or contact the manufacturer's support team. Do not use metal tools inside the heating chamber.

Can an incompatible stick damage a heated tobacco device?

Yes. Risks include a bent or broken heating blade or pin, damage from forcing the wrong diameter, residue in the chamber and incorrect heating. The clearest high-risk example is using an ILUMA SMARTCORE stick containing a metal element in an older blade-based IQOS holder.

Can I use a regular cigarette in a heated tobacco device?

No. A cigarette is designed to burn and does not have the structure, dimensions or materials required by a heated tobacco system. It can damage or contaminate the chamber and creates a fire risk if lit. Never light any stick while it is in a device.

Can heated tobacco sticks be reused?

No. Heated tobacco and heated nicotine sticks are designed for one session. Reheating a used stick will not restore the original material and may increase residue, odour and the chance of a stick breaking inside the chamber.

Why do stick names and compatibility differ by country?

Manufacturers launch devices, brands and flavours market by market. Regulations can also change the available names, ingredients and formats. For example, IQOS ILUMA may be sold with TEREA and SENTIA in Japan but with TEREA, DELIA and LEVIA in parts of Europe. The local pack and official local device guide take priority.

What information should I check on a stick pack?

Before use, verify:

the exact compatible device family;
the stick brand and format;
whether the pack is sealed and undamaged;
the market-specific warnings and instructions;
that the product is a heated consumable, not a cigarette or vape pod.

If the pack does not clearly name your device family, do not test compatibility by inserting or heating it.
